Darren apparently built the New Project house, and the mechanism to turn it in to a working spaceship, a while before selling it to Ron, apparently a good friend of his. He first shows up as "Con_Artist_333", selling crap to 'idiots' such as Ron over the Internet, although this actually turned out to be part of Ron's method of becoming rich. He turned up at the house shortly before the apocalypse occured, suggesting that he somehow knew when it was occuring.
